Your organisation sets the check-in frequency, retries and escalation contacts. People can start Working Alone themselves, or start it when accepting a fault. They don’t have to rebuild a response plan every time.
When a welfare check arrives, confirm you’re OK or ask for help. Phone checks use the same simple choice: press 1 if you’re OK, or 2 if you need help.
Available in the Pinga Me Android app. Background location permission is required to start a Working Alone session.

When a check-in is missed

Your configured retries give the worker another opportunity to respond. If there is still no response, Pinga follows the escalation plan. The worker is skipped as their own escalation contact.
Escalation contacts can see the follow-up in Pinga Me and the portal. SMS details include the attempts made, last contact time, latest available GPS position and a map link. A secure response link lets someone take over the follow-up and stop further escalation.
Taking responsibility for follow-up does not confirm that the worker is safe. Your team still needs to contact them and follow your response procedures.

Journey lines connect recorded GPS points. They are an indication of movement, not a guaranteed road route. Location timestamps help you judge how recent the information is.

Who chooses the check-in and escalation settings?
Your tenant administrator enables Working Alone and configures the frequency, retries and default escalation contacts. Individual contact settings can override the escalation contacts where needed. The person starting the session chooses their expected duration.
Can we use team location without a Working Alone session?
Yes. Normal team location sharing works independently, using the person’s sharing settings and phone permissions. Working Alone requires background location so it can keep reporting during the session.
What happens without mobile coverage?
Alerts, responses and location uploads depend on connectivity and device permissions. A missed response may trigger escalation even when the cause is a flat battery or loss of coverage. The last known location can be old or unavailable. Agree on a separate communication and emergency response procedure before people head out.
Is this an emergency monitoring service?
No. Pinga is a supplementary tool for your own team’s procedures. It does not dispatch emergency services or guarantee welfare, delivery or location accuracy. Test your setup and maintain independent safety controls and response arrangements.
